Clearwater Florida, known for segregation in the early 1900’s decided not to move the bodies of the darker American’s cemetery and instead, paved over the land and the bodies. Hundreds to thousands of African American Bodies remained in areas where is was more valuable and cost effective to acquire the land than to move the brown bodies that lay underneath.
As a result, finding bodies in the mid 80’s was a common occurrence by construction companies, yet the discovery for the most part remained hushed until now.
